What! Women play hockey now! Indeed they do. In Connecticut, the last five years has seen a growth in the numbers of teams and the strength of their programs. Why not attend a game or two and see for yourself? The regular season runs from October through first part of March. Check out the (partial) 2006/2007 Schedule for Connecticut Senior Women (Rink teams). For more about ice hockey on the national level, National Womens Hockey League is the place to start.

Rose City Warriors

Norwich Senior Women's Ice Hockey Team. Two Time Norwich Cup Champions! The Rose City Warriors began in November 1995 following the opening of the Norwich Municipal Ice Rink in Norwich, Connecticut. At first their only opponent was (now known as 'Lady Lightning') Bolton. Coaches are Kevin Coyle, Peter Scheifele and player/coach Sue Cowley.

Salisbury Stingers
The Salisbury Stingers began 7 years ago with a small group of women. It grew in 2000 to an actual team with a coach. In the 2001-2002 season they added players to their roster, found a sponsor and purchased jerseys. The team now plays 8-10 games a season against teams from around CT. In 2003, they participated in their first tournaments, in Norwich and New Haven.
